Minimally invasive treatments such as fat removal injections or cryolipolysis (also known as CoolSculpting) lead to results that are not really satisfying, because only very little fat – if any – disappears. The only effective method that leads to a perfect, lasting result is liposuction. As part of an outpatient procedure, the fat is sucked out with a cannula and never comes back. Local anesthesia and a light twilight sleep guarantee a painless treatment without the risks of anesthesia. You can go home immediately after the treatment and return to work the day after. The bandage can be removed the day after the procedure, after which you will wear a tight abdominal belt for about a week. Liposuction takes one hour and the cost varies depending on the area.

However, only the fat between the skin and the abdominal muscle can be removed. Some abdominal protrusions consist of fat under the abdominal muscles with only a minimal amount of fat under the skin. In such cases, unfortunately, liposuction does not help, only a diet.
