Sagging cellulite is caused by excess skin. The usual methods of treatment do not help here; to achieve an improvement, the skin must be tightened in this case. As an alternative to the scalpel, Renuvion^® can effectively tighten the tissue using a combination of radio frequency energy and helium gas. Helium gas cools the treated tissue, while the plasma jet (which is generated from a fraction of the helium gas and radiofrequency energy) heats the connective tissue fibers in a controlled manner without heating the surrounding area. This leads to a targeted shrinking/tightening of the connective tissue fibers under the skin. This tightening effect is so pronounced that it can sometimes be seen and felt immediately after treatment, even if the final result often takes up to six months. In certain cases, Renuvion^® must be combined with other methods for cellulite treatment.

To tighten the skin, it needs at least 60°C, preferably for a few seconds. The plasma technology of Renuvion^® achieves a sensational 85°C under the skin, which corresponds to a tightening effect that has never before been achieved with other methods. The skin heats up to a maximum of 41°C, making burns impossible. Renuvion^® is currently the most efficient and safest way of tightening the skin without a scalpel.
